Description
The native British barberry, a deciduous thorny shrub to 3m high with purple leaves, bearing lots of clusters of bright red, egg-shaped edible fruits (acid, lemony).
Produces clusters of small yellow flowers in late spring that have a strong, honey-like fragrance. Very good bee plant.
