Black Salsify 'Russian Giant'

Hardy herbaceous perennial with edible roots, also excellent edible leaves and flowers for salads or cooking.

It can be harvested all winter from September onwards, so is a valuable crop for plugging the gap.

Seed heads are magical (like giant fluffy dandelions) that add character to a garden.
