Description
Japanese chestnut. A spreading, medium sized tree growing to 15m or so. Bears nuts in spiny burrs, the nuts being longer and narrower than European chestnuts.
Flowers are a significant nectar source for honey bees and others.
Please note: due to current restrictions on Castanea within the South Hams, Teignbridge and beyond, these trees are only for sale locally and cannot be planted outside of the demarcated area.
