Description
Very early, Russian grape, named after the famous Russian cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin, the first man in space.
Skin colour is deep dark blue, and the taste is very crisp, very aromatic, very sweet and with little acidity. It produces large, loose bunches of dark blue-black dessert grapes with a good flavour in September.
Gagarin even grows well in partial shade.
Leaves are eaten cooked - rated moderately good in our taste tests, or added to pickles to retain their crunch.
