Description
The roots were once the source of the sweet marshmallow. The leaves and roots are cooked as vegetables and the whole plant is medicinal. Paper is made from the fibres in stems and roots.
Soft large leaves are also the best wild toilet paper alternative we've found!
Perennial to 1.2m high, found at marsh edges but tolerates most soils and sites.
