Description
A shrub from North America, growing to 2.5 m (8 ft) high, also known as Aronia. It grows in any soil, in sun or part shade. It bears lots of black fruits, 7 mm across, which are edible with a good flavour when cooked in pies etc.
Aronia berries are exceptionally rich in antioxidants, particularly anthocyanins (4x more than blueberries) and polyphenols, which support overall health and help protect cells from oxidative stress.
