About
In a nutshell
We are a food-first plant nursery specialising in agroforestry and forest gardens.
Based in South Devon, we raise a wide array of plants, trees and seeds – from heritage apple trees, to unusual edible perennials, to rare berries and soft fruit.
Ecologically Raised
All our nursery stock is raised without the use of pesticides – working with nature rather than against it, for strong and healthy plants
Food focused
Whilst not everyone may find Bladder Campion to their taste, we're here to encourage you to try new things and shift perceptions on what is edible!
People centred
Supporting home gardeners and land managers alike, sharing our passion for forest gardens and agroforestry systems
Our story
The nursery
Close to Totnes, Devon, our site is not only where we produce all our plants, but is also an ongoing agricultural research project into food forest systems – with an experimental nut coppice and a subtropical forest garden (in a glasshouse!)

"Fran honed her nursery skills while working for the ART for several years and is well placed to take over the nursery and move it forward as the Edible Canopy"
