Description

A hardy perennial from Northern Europe, with peppery leaves used in salads or cooked.

Shoots emerge as low rosettes in early spring, transition to tall flowering stalks by late spring, and burst into dense clusters of tiny white  intoxicatingly fragrant flowers during the summer months.

One of my favourite flowers to put into a bouquet.

It naturally favours damp coastal areas, ditches, and estuarine saltmarshes, and tolerates saline as well as mildly acidic to basic pH levels.
