Sensitive Plant

A spiny annual or short-lived evergreen perennial of low, spreading habit, with divided leaves that are sensitive to touch, and fluffy pale pink or pale purple flower heads in summer. A popular plant with children which makes a great conservatory/ houseplant.

In its native regions, extracts from the roots and leaves are utilized in traditional systems of medicine for their purported anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and wound-healing properties.
