Description

A hardy, dwarf shrub cherry developed in Canada as a cross between the sour cherry (Prunus cerasus) and the European dwarf ground cherry (Prunus fruticosa).

Produces small, dark red to nearly black tart cherries with high sugar content and red flesh, making them ideal for jams, juices, and baking without added dyes. The fruits will be ready to harvest from the end of June to July.

A great option for smaller gardens. Grows compactly as a multi-stemmed bush or small shrub, typically reaching 6 to 8 feet tall. Prefers moist, fertile, and well-drained loam. It is highly adaptable to most soils but cannot tolerate standing water around its root system.
