Description
A Chinese variety of C.kousa which flowers and fruits more readily, this makes a large shrub or small tree up to 7m high, growing about 25 cm per year. Has richly-coloured foliage in the autumn.
The fruits, about 20 mm in diameter, are edible with sweet, juicy, delicious pulp; young leaves are also edible.
Prefers full sun but tolerates quite deep shade (where flowering is inhibited).
