Fig 'Violette Dauphine'

(also known as Grise de Tarascon)

Large greenish-violet fruit; flesh pink, fairly rich. Needs warm conditions - good for a cold greenhouse or polytunnel in UK.

Fig leaves are also edible and bring notes of coconut, vanilla, and almond to both sweet and savoury dishes. Use them to flavour syrups, desserts, cocktails or to wrap fish.
