Giant Redwood

A fast growing evergreen, from California, which reaches 50m (150 ft) there; it also likes the West of Britain, growing 70cm per year. The timber is extremely durable, used for sleepers, joinery, fencing, water pipes, cooperage etc. 

Likes a moist soil and sun or part shade.
