Description
The Himalayan Strawberry Tree produces edible, red, strawberry-like fruits in autumn. The soft, ripe fruit has a sweet, earthy, tropical flavour similar to persimmon or pawpaw. While the skin can be bitter, the inner pulp is nutritious (high in Vitamin C and fibre) and often enjoyed raw, used in jams, or fermented.
In Summer you can expect beautiful showy, creamy white flowers that cover the tree.
Large bushy evergreen shrub or small tree to 10m high.
