Description
A small evergreen shrub growing 1-1.5 m (3-5 ft) high, tolerating deep shade. The blue-black fruits, 10 mm across, are edible as are the bright yellow flowers.
Dyes can be made from the fruit, shoots and roots. An excellent ground cover and a superb understorey crop; also good in hedges. A good early source of nectar and pollen for honey and bumble bees.
