Kuban Komet (Prunus × rossica 'Kubanskaya Kometa') was developed at the Krymsk Experimental Breeding Station in Russia in the late 1970s. It is a hybrid between Chinese Plum (Prunus salicina) and the cherry plum cultivar Pionerka.

The medium to large teardrop shaped plums ripen in late July. The skin changes from yellow orange to red and remains tart and resistant to cracking. The bright yellow flesh is sweet, juicy, and clingstone. Extremely rare in the UK.
